Tifeowolabi Tife Owolabi

I have stint for journalism which made the Nigeria’s foremost news and awarding winning Television Station CHANNELS TELEVISION to offered me a job as a cameraman in 2005 after covering an exclusive story of a teenage boy that was lynched and burnt alive by some angry mob for an alleged attempt to kidnap of a toddler in Surulere, Lagos and I was later sent to the volatile oil rich Niger Delta region because of my unequal attitude towards journalism.

Owing to my desire to develop in news reporting in the Niger Delta region, DAAR COMMUNICATIONS PLC operator’s of Africa independent television and Raypower (a radio station) offered me employment as a reporter in 2007,when it started its local transmission in Bayelsa state southern Nigeria. It was with that zeal that REUTERS NEWS AGENCY NIGERIA BUREAU approached me as a stringer on the oil rich delta region story, which am still holding to.

At Reuters, I report all activities within Niger Delta region as a multi-media journalist doing Text, Television and Photography as its affect the oil sector, because at Reuters is on Business, Economy and Environment news. I cover breaking news and I have been to all the militant camps the height of militancy and am still in touch with them.

I have travelled to all the major oil installations in boat crisscross the south-south region and I have done several Over-flies with Shell and other oil majors.

I also do fixing ( guide) to Aljazeera, BBC,AP, France 24,CCTV ,Germany TV,AFP and Globalmail of Canada any time they are coming on assignment in this region.

I have a national diploma in business studies from Lagos state polytechnic and a dropout of English language from Lagos state university owing to some constrains and bagged diploma in News writing and Journalism from London School of Journalism via online.
