The unemployment has reached the 28 percent officially with many people not believing the number. A big increase in taxes public trasport fees and salarys together with the reduced public spending in social wellfare has made lot of people loose their home their jobs many times even their life.
Before the crisis most of the homeless in Greece were either alcoholics or illegal drug users or former jailed people.
Now homeless are even people with diplomas and fereign speaking language who in a very few months have seen their life changing for ever.
NGOS like the Medecins san Frontier officially stated that Greece looks more like an war zone than a peacefull country due to the humanitarian crisis it face.
Immigrants and local scitizens are overcrowding the ngo offices and clinics asking even for the simplest medicine or for food. There are public stated cases of cancer patients unable to get treatment due to the goverments decision to impose a 25 euro fee for ever entering a hospital to all patients.
