Inside footage, recorded with a camera attached to a cameraman’s body, offers an intimate look at a battle between Iraqi forces and ISIS over control of the city of Tikrit. Dozens of fighters from the Federal Police Special Forces, the Iraqi Army and Shiite militias advance through an open field to the sounds of heavy gunshots and flying warplanes.

Combatants, shouting war cries in praise of Muslim Shiite saints, quickly run through marshes and between low hills before reaching heavily war damaged buildings. The fighters stop when some of them suspect a booby-trapped wire before eventually recommencing their advance.

Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi announced that his forces had recaptured the strategic city of Tikrit on Tuesday March 30, 2015. The official Iraqiya television station published a headline quoting the PM's words: “Tikrit has fallen to us. However, local sources in Tikrit say that ISIS still controls many parts of the city and that heavy fighting is still going on.

Dozens of armed men from the Awamer clans paraded against the Houthis in Hawarem, a desert area in the southern Yemeni province of Hadramawt near the border with Saudi Arabia.
This video shows the tribesmen driving a convoy of pickup trucks and SUVs that carry the Awamer tribal flag in a desert area while brandishing rifles, machineguns and rocket-propelled grenade launchers. The men are then seen forming a circle and chanting, as well as shooting their weapons in the air.
The footage also includes an interview with Saleh al-Ameri, a leader of the Awamer clans, in which he declares his tribe’s solidarity with Gulf countries “against any aggression.”

Fighters of the Belobeid tribe proudly tout their guns and artillery in the southern Yemeni desert of Shabwah, an Al-Qaeda haven. Just as the Saudi-led coalition began bombing Houthis and loyalists to ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh, hundreds of fighters from the Belobeid tribe began joining forces in the desert of the southern province to begin organizing a coordinated resistance against the Houthis.

In the past few months, the ongoing expansion of northern Yemen's Houthi rebels has prompted many tribes in the restive south to pull together. One man interviewed says they are fighting against both the Houthis and "terrorism" as such.

We are gathered to unify the voice of all Belobeid clans. We confirm that that Belobeid are a solid bloc that shall not be broken.
Throughout history, we have preserved the security of our area [UNINTELLIGIBLE] al-Soda. We have preserved our security and safety against any kind of aggression. What is happening in Sanaa is their own conflict, we are not concerned with it in any manner here in the south. We have proved our presence. Footage from a camera mounted on the helmet of a fighter from the Ali-al-Akbar Shiite militia (part of the larger al-Hashd al-Shaabi umbrella of Shiite militias) shows fighters running through trenches and dirt roads on the outskirts of Al-Awja, the hometown of Saddam Hussein, in southern Tikrit. ISIS fighters were forced to retreat following the clashes.

The Iraqi Army, in coordination with al-Hashd al-Shaabi militias, launched an offensive to retake the city of Tikrit, which became an ISIS stronghold in June of 2014. Around 30,000 troops have been deployed and have been retaking villages from the jihadists en route to Tikrit over the last month.

Responding to an incursion by Islamic State fighters on the southern outskirts of Kirkuk on Jan. 30, Saturday Peshmerga PUK fighters responded by going on the offensive, launching an attack on the ISIS-held village of Mula Abdulla just five kilometers south of Maktab Khaled.

Supported by anti-ISIS coalition airstrikes from A-10 and F-16 aircraft, approximately 600 Peshmerga fighters used tanks, RPGs, and small arms to assault what they estimated to be 250 ISIS fighters holed up in the village. ISIS responded with mortars and small arms, and as of dusk, the battle for Mula Abdulla was still at a standstill. However, ISIS return fire greatly diminished after several passes by an A-10, which struck their mortar positions to the cheers of Peshmerga fighters taking cover behind a berm just 30 feet away.
