Local witches and believers are waiting to take part in their annual ceremony inside a local store. The Witches Compass is an interactive ritual environment and celebration. Participants are guided along 'the crooked path' of sorcery, to work both the mysteries of the Waxing of the Waning Moons. Each round of the Witches Compass is a unique event inspired by the balance of the elements and the flux of the lunar tide. Katelan V. Foisy is a witch but also an artist, writer, and Tarot reader who has created her own form of energy-healing based on Native American Techniques and applies them in her everyday life.

Brooklyn, NY

I took my photograph on the Brooklyn side of East River. I remember the feeling of contrast – beautiful, young people kissing with the apocalypse behind them. It was not, however, the reason I took this photo. The ambiguity of this scene lies in a tiny camera in the young man's hand.
