August 29, 2020 - Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil. Most Favelas in Brazil have been getting hit hard by the new Covid-19 health crisis. Within the Favela of Santa Marta, situated in the middle of Rio de Janeiro, has had to fend for itself in order to prevent too much death. Locals have organized themselves to clean the many dotted streets and walls and buildings of the favela without any government help. The various armed gangs controlling the favela have also enforced a strict confinement order to help prevent the spread.
