Tuesday morning’s explosion tore through the Dahiyeh neighborhood — a Hezbollah stronghold — in Beirut’s southern suburbs, leaving at least 53 injured and extensive damage in its wake. The reported 35kg bomb was planted under a car, leaving a crater in the parking lot of a grocery store.

The blast comes amid heightening sectarian tensions in Lebanon, as the spillover from the war in neighboring Syria continues to affect Lebanon. July 9, 2013.

Since June 2011, Sunni extremists in Tripoli have organized Friday demonstrations in support of the Syrian revolution. The number of demonstrations has increased and intensified, along with gun battles - between Sunnis in Bab al-Tabbaneh and the minority Alawite sect in the neighboring area of Jabal Mohsen - as the conflict continues.

From the 17th till the 22th of October, 16 doctors and 16 nurses are learning about war medicine in Arsal, a Lebanese city bordering Syria. The training is organized by the Union of Syrian Organizations of Medical Aid (UOSSM), created in France and present in Turkey, Syria and Lebanon. Here, one of the trainers prepares a workshop, in the last floor of an unfinished building, used as a training center.

Israeli workers and bulldozers could be seen along the borders with Lebanon on Wednesday, May 2, as they continued the construction of a security wall between the two countries.

The wall is intended to protect the city of Metulla from any attacks or sniper fire coming from the Lebanese bordering town of Kfar Kila.

Israel began construction of the wall Monday and it will run several kilometers along its borders with Lebanon.

The wall’s construction is expected to continue for several weeks and it is being done in coordination with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and the Lebanese army as well according to reports.

Although they are not fighting, Israel and Lebanon are considered in a state of war and military officers of both sides regularly meet under the auspices of the UNIFIL to coordinate security along their joint borders.

When dominated by a patriarchal society, girls end up being the victims sometimes. Certain extremes are taken in order to protect oneself from the shame and disgrace of society. Hymen Reconstruction surgeries are one of those extremes girls seek in order to appear as virgins to their future husbands and society. Is it ethical? Is it justifiable? This documentary aims to present several points of views around this issue, leaving it up to the audience to decide what is right and what is wrong in hopes of encouraging change.
